چکیده

Time Petri nets are Petri nets extended with a notion of time, where the occurrence time of a transition is constrained by a static interval. The objective of this work is to give time Petri nets a partial order semantics, based on the nonsequential processes semantics for untimed net systems. A time process of a time Petri net is deened as a traditionally constructed causal process that has a valid timing. This means that the events of the process are labeled with occurrence times which must satisfy speciic validness criteria. These criteria are obtained by analyzing how the timing constraints interact with the causal ordering of the events in the net. An eecient algorithm for checking then validness of a given timing is sketched. Interleavings of the time processes are deened as linearizations of the causal partial order of events where also the temporal ordering of events is preserved. The relationship between the ring schedules of a time Petri net and the interleavings of the time processes of the net is shown to be bijective. Also, a suucient condition is given for when the invalidity of timings for a process can be inferred from an initial subprocess. An alternative characterization for the validness of timings then results in an algorithm for constructing the set of all valid timings for a process. This set of all valid timings is presented as sets of alternative linear constraints, from which the existence of a valid timing can be decided.

Hybrid Time Delay Petri Nets as a Mathematical Novel Tool to Model Dynamic System with Current Sample Time

The existing modeling methods using Petri Nets‎, ‎have been successfully applied to model and analyze dynamic systems‎. ‎However‎, ‎these methods are not capable of modeling all dynamic systems such as systems with the current sample time signals‎, ‎systems including various subsystems and multi-mode systems‎. ‎This paper proposes Hybrid Time Delay Petri Nets (HTDPN) to solve the problem‎. ‎In ...

Business Process Modeling using Petri Nets with Clocks

Petri Nets are tools for the analysis and design of concurrent systems. There is a formal theory, which supports Petri Nets. We propose Petri Nets with Clocks which has a high expressive power in the concurrent and asynchronous process modeling and gives the possibility to model real time systems. The Petri Nets with Clocks are useful to model systems with temporal requirements via specificatio...

Compatibility Analysis of Time Open Workflow Nets

Because of their expressive power, Petri nets are widely used in the context of concurrent and distributed systems. We study in this paper a sub class of time Petri nets, named time open workflow nets (ToWF-nets), used to interconnect time constrained business processes. To interact correctly with each other, these processes have to be compatible. This include not only composability of the invo...

Time Petri nets for workflow modelling and analysis

Time management in workflow processes is crucial in determining and controlling the life cycle of business activities. In our model, a temporal interval as an execution duration is assigned to every workflow task. While the real time taken by the task is nondeterministic and unpredictable, it may be between the bounds, thus specified. We extend Workflow nets (WF-nets) with time intervals and ca...

Petri-nets and Hybrid-state Markov Processes in a Power-hierarchy of Dependability Models

This paper extends the power hierarchy of dependability models developed by Malhotra and Trivedi (1994) and Muppala et al. (2000) to include Piecewise Deterministic Markov Processes (PDP) and PDP-related Petri Nets. PDPs are known as the largest class of continuous-time hybrid state Markov processes not involving diffusions. Since Petri Nets have proven to be extremely useful in developing Mark...
